Is sidr or jujube leaf treatment established?

Sidr leaves crushed into bathing water are widely used in sihr treatment, and the practice appears in classical sources including narrations attributed to the treatment of the Prophet, peace be upon him, himself.

Common method

• Crush seven dried sidr leaves
• Add to water that has been recited over
• Use for bathing, at comfortable temperature
• Repeat daily for the treatment period

It is safe, cheap and harmless. Sidr is sold in most Middle Eastern and South Asian grocers and online, usually for very little.

Two practical points. Some people react to plant material on skin, so test a small area first if you have sensitive skin or eczema. And be sceptical of sidr sold at premium prices as a specially prepared or blessed product; it is a dried leaf.

The number seven is traditional rather than binding, and using more or fewer changes nothing of substance.
