How do I protect my home and family from jinn?
The prescribed protection is routine rather than dramatic, and consistency is what makes it work.
Daily
- Morning and evening adhkar, without exception
- Ayat al-Kursi after every obligatory prayer and before sleeping
- Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq and An-Nas three times, morning and evening
- Say bismillah when entering the house, eating, closing doors at night, and before pouring hot water
In the home
- Recite Surah Al-Baqarah regularly, whether recited yourself or played aloud
- Pray some voluntary prayers at home
- Remove images of animate beings, and dogs kept without need
- Close doors and cover vessels at nightfall, as instructed in the Sunnah
- Keep the home free of what invites harm: backbiting, persistent anger, abandoned prayers
For children
Recite the mu'awwidhat over them nightly. Teach them Ayat al-Kursi. Say the prophetic dua seeking Allah's protection for them from every devil, harmful creature and envious eye.
This protection is free, requires no practitioner, and works before problems arise rather than after. Most people who maintain it consistently never need anything else.
