Can I perform ruqya on myself?
Yes, and it is strongly encouraged. Self-ruqya requires no licence, no permission, and no intermediary. The Prophet, peace be upon him, would recite over himself, cup his hands, blow into them, and wipe them over his body.
A simple daily method
- Make wudu and sit quietly, facing the qibla if convenient.
- Recite Al-Fatiha, Ayat al-Kursi, the last two verses of Al-Baqarah, then Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq and An-Nas three times each.
- Cup your hands, blow lightly into them, and wipe over your head, face and as much of your body as you can reach.
- Ask Allah directly, in your own words, for healing.
Consistency matters more than intensity. Ten minutes every day will do more than one long session a month.
Many people never need a practitioner at all.
