Can a jinn cause aversion or attachment in a marriage?

Practitioners report cases where a spouse develops sudden strong aversion to their partner, or an inexplicable fixation on someone else, and attribute this to jinn involvement.

Before accepting that explanation, consider what else produces exactly this picture.

Untreated depression flattens affection and produces irritability and withdrawal, which reads to a spouse as sudden coldness. Unspoken resentment accumulating over years surfaces abruptly and looks causeless from outside. Concealment, whether of an affair, a debt or an addiction, produces withdrawal that appears unexplained precisely because the cause is hidden.

A reasonable approach

• Have the honest conversation, ideally with a counsellor or trusted third party present
• Both partners see a doctor
• Both maintain prayer and daily adhkar, and recite over each other, which is Sunnah and needs no practitioner
• Accuse no one. Suspicion voiced about a relative or in-law cannot be withdrawn, and this single discipline prevents most of the damage in this area

If it does turn out to be spiritual, the treatment is recitation and patience. The ordinary work of the marriage continues alongside it either way.
